Gabriel Kahan is a visiting researcher at Sciences Po-Paris and a PhD Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His current research draws on mixed methods to evaluate the shifting state-market relations that now define climate governance. Here he is completing a dissertation project on green industrial policy in France.
Previously, he has written on conditionalities affecting multinational emitters, the derisking of energy transitions in the Global South, and public asset managers in France, Singapore, and China. He regularly presents this work at international conferences and workshops, and has taught courses in political economy, sociology, and research methods.
In addition, he collaborates with think tanks across the US and EU to translate research into policy insights. He has served on expert committees, directed databases, and compiled dossiers on green industrial strategy.
